5282 11/4” (R32), soft-closing, 2/2-way NC solenoid valve with pre-assembled dirt filter

Since 1994, we have encountered countless installations with different brands and types of solenoid valves. Solenoid valves are available in different designs and qualities, and it is important to choose the right type. Installing a low-quality or incorrectly designed solenoid valve can cause problems in the long run, such as water shortages or flooding due to the valve not opening or closing completely. The most common reason for a solenoid valve to malfunction is that the hole in the diaphragm is clogged or that debris has accumulated around or on the pivot rod, preventing it from closing or opening completely.

We recommend and only sell solenoid valves of model 5282 from Bürkert. This solenoid valve is very common in municipal and industrial installations due to its high reliability. Bürkert’s solenoid valve 5282 is different in design than many other solenoid valves on the market. It works with a technology that does not require a hole in the diaphragm, which means it also has larger channels for water. The advantage of this design is that there is simply no hole in the diaphragm that can be clogged by particles (sand and gravel) from, for example, the borehole or particles released from pipelines. In addition, no particles will accumulate around the pivot rod, which could prevent it from opening or closing completely.

All solenoid valves should be protected by a dirt filter that traps particles. Therefore, we only sell solenoid valves together with a pre-assembled dirt filter. The dirt filter is much easier to clean than dismantling a clogged solenoid valve.
